To Like Or Not To Like?

Hello beautiful people,

Today’s newsletter post was inspired by a question I got from a community member. He got into trouble with his fianceé for liking various pictures of other women on Instagram (I know right…relationship drama)

His fianceés reason was that in the pictures he liked, the women were dressed quite “provocative” and as her fianceé, he had no business liking provocative pictures or videos of other women when he already had her.

His defence was that he had no idea who those women were in real life and “it didn’t mean anything” so he had no idea why she was making a big fuss about it.

But I had to let him know that his action was a big deal because not only did it seem somewhat disrespectful to do what he did, but it also stirred up “competition anxeity” in his fianceé. He seemed quite puzzled after I said that so I explained further by asking him how he would feel if when he scrolled through Instagram, he saw his fianceé liking provocative pictures and videos of topless and very sexy men. Men who were more good-looking than he was. Men in the Ryan Gosling category.

And his reply was “tbh, I’d feel like shit, like as if she is just managing me and those are the type of men she really wants but could not get”. After that, he got the picture.

So, this week’s post is for both sexes (male and female). As you enter a new week today, here are your ABCs of IG picture and video liking A.K.A the rules of engagement on Instagram when it comes to members of the opposite sex if you want to be on the safe side and keep your relationship and marriage IG drama free.
